Workshop details:

1. Development
We will cover putting a two page proposal together, getting a title and a log line and being able to present your idea to potential funders or platforms

2. Budget
We will look at a budget template and talk about how money is allocated to each department.
Cost reports and evaluation will be discussed – which allows you see how accurate your estimation was.

3. Scheduling
How do you plan a timeline for a film?
We will look at a Gant chart to see how to plan a shoot and edit.

4. Consent, Copyright, Legal Rights
We will talk about permissions, clearing rights, using stock footage and music, royalties

Bio
Meghna is an award winning director and producer, with a global sensibility for characters that audiences identify with across Asia and Europe. She collaborates with academic researchers to create documentaries in South Asia and has worked in broadcast for Channel 4, Al Jazeera, BBC, ZDF and ORF. A selection of credits include – Al Jazeera: India’s Dalit Revolution: 101 East, Witness: The Jungle Surgeon, and C4’s Unreported World: India’s Cow Vigilantes.
